Russian Grammar practice:
ОдиННадцать: один-на-дцать
“дцать” in old Russian means “десять”, ten.
So “один-на-дцать” – “one on ten”, etc.:
двеНАдцать, триНАдцать, четырНАдцать, пятНАдцать, шестНАдцать, семНАдцать, восемНАдцать.
“ДВА-ДЦАТЬ” means “two times ten”
“ТРИ-ДЦАТЬ” means “three times ten”
Now you know this logic and it helps you to remember how “11, 12, …” are in Russian!
